Lupa was purchased from a breeding by a couple who were looking for a lazy lab to snuggle on the couch after work and on the weekends. What they didn't realize was she was the product of two accomplished and driven hunting dogs. Early on, they did everything they could to keep Lupa calm and teach her how to relax, but she only grew more and more difficult to manage as a pet. At about a year old, Lupa's owners contacted us. We immediately knew she would make an incredible detection dog. After training her TFR (trained final response), and started shaping her into a detection dog, we saw her soften and become more stable. It was then that our VP, Emily, fell in love with Lupa and decided to pull her for herself. Since then, Emily and Lupa have been developing their working relationship and growing as a Narcotics Detection team.
